| Phoenix, Arizona... and other locales when possible The Gift of Reiki Usui Reiki is a relaxation technique that allows the body to heal on all levels. The experience is unforgettable, often life-altering. Students and recipients of Reiki report a wide variety of reactions to Reiki, leading them to their individual paths of both healing and spiritual awakening. Reiki, a divinely-guided healing energy, allows the body’s energy to increase its vibrational frequency, encouraging self-healing. Illness is due to an imbalance of the energies within our bodies. Typically this ‘imbalance’ involves heavy or slow energy. Reiki gently stimulates and increases energy frequencies to create harmony where there is dysfunction. Reiki effects the Ki, chi, prana, or life source to allow optimal health. Reiki sessions are offered for 60 to 90 minutes, but can be shorter or longer if necessary. For most people, incredible peace and relaxation are experienced during and after a Reiki session. When done, clients are encouraged to drink plenty of water to free the toxins released during treatment. During Reiki, the experience is always unique. Some recipients of Reiki feel peace and calm, others heat or warmth. Often clients feel a rocking, waves or pulsation. I’ve witnessed spontaneous past life regression and awakening of suppressed memories. I've also seen clients go through pain as they released negative energy during a session- it's not always comfortable, but it is healing. Some experiences like this can be unsettling, but what the body needs at that moment for optimal healing determines the experience. Healing occurs on so many levels with Reiki. Much of our illness (based on slow, stagnate energy) may start in our auras, our finer energy bodies rather than in the physical body. This is the thought in most Eastern medicine. These energy bodies, of which we have many, also have varying degrees of energy frequency. These auras are much more expansive than our dense, physical bodies, allowing us to communicate with each other from a distance. Energy is universal and the energy levels we possess may be influenced by food, friends, thoughts, exposure to Nature, etc. At Reiki Learning Center, helping you to experience the light and love of Reiki is my ultimate goal. Contact me so I can assist you with your needs. I am located in Phoenix and Flagstaff, but am also planning weekend Reiki trips to Sedona and other locations. As I follow my path, I will discover new ways to bring Reiki to our very busy and very modern world. Is it any wonder that so many of us are searching for something in our lives we feel is missing? This unsettled feeling of breaking from our inertia is the beginning of our awakening. For me, that awakening made sense when Reiki resonated with my life, leading me to learn something that was new, yet felt like I was coming home. Through prayerful meditation, my many guides, teachers, and angels, both earthly and otherwise, have led me to open up my Reiki path on a much broader scale. Since developing my website and sharing my experience with so many others, I have been honored with a tremendous inflow of people seeking... looking for an answer for their needs. Reiki and meditation have been extraordinarily helpful in all ways. As more and more folks have honored me with their questions, I have made myself very available for sessions and classes. If you are from the Valley or Northern Arizona, you already know what a blessed place we live in. For those coming from out of town, know that you will not be disappointed. I have a Travel page with links to assist you in making travel plans. Bring your camera and your sunscreen. Please let me know what further information would be of assistance to you. I am an enthusiastic advocate for the practice of Reiki and am ready to help answer questions. |
| Cathedral Rock in Sedona, AZ, a favorite hike of ours. Sedona is renowned for its energy vortexes and undeniable beauty. An artist's, hiker's, and spiritualist's paradise. |

The shrouded San Francisco Peaks of Flagstaff, AZ. These sacred peaks are believed to possess amazing energy and are a sacred spiritual site for Natives of Northern Arizona. |
| Thomas Jefferson I never told my own religion nor scrutinized that of another. I never attempted to make a convert, nor wished to change another's creed. I am satisfied that yours must be an excellent religion to have produced a life of such exemplary virtue and correctness. For it is in our lives, not from our words, that our religion must be judged." (Thomas Jefferson to Mrs. H. Harrison Smith, 1816) |
| ... I fell in love with Northern Arizona when I first visited in 1992, and, although I moved to Phoenix in 1993, Flagstaff still has my heart. Spending time in Flag is extremely special, as the energy there is so strong and peaceful. The air is still clear, hiking is amazing, and the town still has much character. |
Since moving to Arizona, I have especially loved the North Valley and currently teach classes and do sessions close to Anthem, Cave Creek and Carefree, approximately 9 miles north of the Loop 101 in the North Valley. So much raw beauty still exists in this very Western area. Cave Creek and Carefree beautifully capture the old West as well as offer today's amenities and luxuries. Any visit to the Valley is incomplete without experiencing these characteristic and unique towns. |

| Questions: How do you define your spiritual journey? What have been your greatest influences? Your greatest obstacles? Can you find appreciation in even the difficulties of your life? What is your focus right now? |
| The Spiritual Journey: Regardless the difficulty of our paths, each one of us is on a journey that is perfect for us, bringing us the lessons that will help us progress and learn as is meant to be in this lifetime. This is a difficult concept for many to swallow. One of the biggest "themes" in my classes is to help others to find the beauty in their flaws, their mistakes, their foibles. We all have them. Even our tragedies and traumas have a purpose. Developing some sort of appreciation for the "junk" or obstacles in our lives creates a sense of allowance... a state often difficult to achieve, as we are all want to be in control to some extent. Appreciating this perfection doesn't let us off the hook in striving to learn and grow, but helps us to not live in drama without an appreciation for life's bigger purpose. Finding a path, a teacher, a lineage, a tradition is essential. I am implying something typically far more meaningful and personalized than conventional religion. I am not anti-religion. Religion has brought much hope and many answers to the lives of people around the world. But, very often, the dogmatic approach and narrow-mindedness of many religions or their leaders have left literally millions of people feeling empty, craving something more. Thus, our spiritual journeys... a path beyond the limitations of our religions. Nothing is more important than seeking your soul's answers. If I may be of any assistance on your path, do not hesitate to contact me. If I am capable of answering your questions or of pointing you in the right directions, I would be happy to help. Many blessings- B |

| A Case of Mistaken Identity: The above questions are really all the same question. Our desire to find our self-value, self-worth, self-esteem by looking outside of ourselves is addictive. So much so that we deny that we even do it. When I've asked the first question (who is living your life?) at retreats, pretty much everyone confidently says, I do, I live my own life, certain they have answered correctly. Hmmm. Slow down and think about it. How often do you make decisions in order to fulfill some level of expectation set by peers: the easy ones are what you wear, the car you drive, and other material purchases not exactly made for their true utilitarian value, but made to identify you with a certain group, status level, and so on. If you look, you will even recognize very obvious patterns in those who choose to not conform as conforming with each other in an effort to not conform to everyone else. Interesting. We love labels, qualifiers, names, identities. They make us feel safe. We, consciously or unconsciously, align with certain groups of people or identify groups that we want to contrast completely... and then we become. Our need for duality (right/wrong, beautiful/ugly, important/unnecessary) transfixes us with an immediate impulse to label, categorize, and assign some value code to every person, animal, thing, and action. When we organize our world this way, we feel safe and secure in this tidy world we've organized. One problem. It's not real. The value assignments you've created are completely associated with your opinion, having nothing to do with The Truth. Truth (the kind with a capital T) is something that is indestructible and static. Truth can't be sometimes this and sometimes that. Yet, many of the labeled items in our lives change. Even your life changes: Infancy- Toddlerhood- Childhood- Adolescence- Teenager- Young Adulthood- Middle Age- Old Age- Death. You are a prom queen, a student, a basketball player, a computer geek, a cheerleader, an accountant, a pizza delivery guy, a gambler, an addict, a pervert, an intellect, a godsend, a lover, a soldier. Think of all the labels that apply to you and try to find the real you. Go ahead, take a moment and think about who you really are. ... And I bet you are wrong. You could choose the nicest labels that you are happiest with or resonate most closely with, and you are still going to be wrong. Those labels have changed or will change, so even though they may sound great (or horrible), "they" are not You. Those identities are identities of your Ego. They are helpful to qualify your life and give order to your world... and the reality is that they are helpful to function in this world. That doesn't make them You though. Admittedly, I've put a number of these qualifiers and identifiers in my website to help others understand my life situation. But these identities are not me. If I believed that, it would be a case of mistaken identity. But I know better. Who, then, are you? What is the Truth that is unchangeable in you? It might be worth thinking about. Much love- B |
